….JAZZ 88’s Arne Fogel series MINNESOTA’S VOICES: “CERTAIN STANDARDS” ended it’s six-months’ run on March 30th. The series features Arne’s stories from “The Great American Songbook” and performances of these songs by Arne and four of Minnesota’s top jazz vocalists: DEBBIE DUNCAN, CONNIE EVINGSON, MAUD HIXSON, and Minnesota born-and-raised (and current NYC resident) NANCY HARMS. Production: WILD SOUND STUDIOS in Minneapolis with music direction by TANNER TAYLOR and RICK CARLSON (for Maud Hixson), and MATTHEW ZIMMERMAN at the controls……



….ARNE FOGEL is already set for new, original theatrical presentations at BLOOMINGTON CENTER FOR THE ARTS (Feb. 23rd, 2013) & HOPKINS CENTER FOR THE ARTS (April 13th, 2013) during the 2012-2013 season. More info TBA…..

…..Arne Fogel, working under the supervision of BING CROSBY ENTERPRISES’ vice president for marketing and production ROBERT S. BADER, has written the extensive liner notes for the very first American release of Bing Crosby’s 1975 album “A SOUTHERN MEMOIR”. Arne Fogel performs Italian favorites as well as original songs by CHAN POLING. Also featured on the disc are DAN NEWTON (accordion), DEAN MAGRAW (guitar), and PETER OSTROUSHKO (mandolin). WHITING……You can hear tracks from this and other sessions on Arne’s MYSPACE music player. The posted titles from “MANGIA!” (arranged by Chan Poling) are “MAMBO ITALIANO” and “CAPUCCINA”, while the Whiting tracks (featuring piano accompaniment by TANNER TAYLOR) consist of “SHE’S FUNNY THAT WAY”, “I CAN’T ESCAPE FROM YOU”, and “MY IDEAL”.
