ARNE FOGEL, in association with ROBERT BADER, BING CROSBY ENTERPRISES and SIRIUS XM RADIO created a special radio program called “BING’S BASEMENT” for Sirius XM radio’s Holiday listeners in December. The program featured a collection of outtakes, rarities and obscurities from Crosby’s personal vault.
….The two-part program appeared regularly on the “Bing Crosby Christmas Radio” station from December 19 through December 26 on SiriusXM channel 142 and online on SiriusXM Internet Radio channel 762 and through the SiriusXM Internet Radio App on smartphones and mobile devices. Fogel, Bader, and Crosby Enterprises are now creating 12 more non-holiday episodes of the series for continued SIRIUS XM listeners in 2013! Stay tuned for more info…..

……UPDATE: The sessions for the NANCY HARMS album were indeed completed in early December at Michael Brorby’s Acoustic Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with ARNE FOGEL as producer. The Harms band consisted of the above-mentioned players, plus a special appearance on one track by trombone legend WYCLIFFE GORDON. The CD includes compositions by such tunesmiths as JAY LIVINGSTON & RAY EVANS, DUKE ELLINGTON, ALEC WILDER, JOHNNY BURKE & JIMMY VAN HEUSEN, ERIC SATIE, JOHNNY MERCER, LIONEL HAMPTON, SONNY BURKE, as well as four new songs composed by Harms, three of which were written in collaboration with Fogel. Mixing was completed in February of this year at CREATION AUDIO in Minneapolis. Expect a July release on the brand-new GAZELLE label…..

….ARNE FOGEL made his debut appearance as a guest performer with THE NEW STANDARDS during their special Holiday shows at THE FITZGERALD THEATER this past December 7th, 8th, and 9th….. A broadcast version of the concert, taken from these “live” performances, aired on 89.3 (The Current) at 8pm on Christmas Eve, and at 8am the following (Christmas) day.

….A recent column by JIM WALSH in the STAR-TRIBUNE noted the success of Minnesotan Nicholas David on the NBC TV series “THE VOICE”, and then went on to list 25 other Minnesota vocalists whom Walsh would “love to hear on the big stage”, adding that “This state is crawling with great singers….Here are a few suggestions worthy of Carson Daly’s rapture…” ARNE FOGEL was one of the singers cited, with Walsh describing the “understated, elegant, and Sinatra-esque reading” of one of Fogel’s performances.
